Wildlife & animals

Well, if you are shooting wildlife, it is very likely that you will be using a cropped frame body to give you more reach. However, I have still included suggestions for full frame users.

There are a lot of possibilities when it comes to wildlife photography, and it really depends on what you are trying to shoot. The following are some starting lens with an economical price.

For full frame (FX) users

AF-S Nikon 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II
AF-S Nikon 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II

For cropped frame (DX) users

AF-S Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED N VR II
AF-S Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED N VR II

The fast aperture 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom lens features VR II image stabilization (4 stops of light), ED glass, Nano Crystal Coat (N) and Super Intergrated Coating (SIC). It excels at low-light situations, sports, fashion, portraits and more.

As you would expect from a professional grade telephoto zoom lens, it features internal focusing and internal zooming, which makes this lens more weather sealed, against moisture and dust.

With its closet focusing distance of 1.4m (1.27m measured), it produces great protraiture works. When mounted to Nikon teleconverters (TC-14E II, TC-17E II and TC-20E II (III)), this turns the telephoto lens into a super-telephoto lens.

This lens has got the 2010 TIPAS Award for the Best Professional Lens.
